If you come looking for us, we are up on the 5th floor of Ashish Corporate Tower in Karkardooma. Room 511 is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s a typical office building, so there’s always people waiting for the elevator or talking in the hallways. We have our desks set up and the computers stay on most of the day. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and the hum of the air conditioning. We handle various info-arts projects, which mostly means we are staring at screens for a long time. It isn’t as physical as the shops downstairs, but it’s still tiring in its own way. We try to keep things organized, though the piles of papers and hard drives sometimes get out of hand. Karkardooma is a busy area, so getting lunch nearby is easy, though we often just eat at our desks while we finish something up. We don’t do much in the way of fancy meetings. Usually, we just talk across the room to get things sorted. It’s a practical space where we focus on the digital work. Some evenings the sun hits the windows just right and it gets a bit warm, but we just pull the blinds and keep going. We’ve been in this building for a while now and know the security guards and the tea guy pretty well.
