Loknath Bartan Bhandhar

Loknath Bartan Bhandhar is a kitchenware shop located in the Mayur Vihar area. I opened this place because everyone needs good pots and pans, and I saw that people were tired of traveling far just to get a decent pressure cooker or some stainless steel plates. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of metal goods. We have brass items for special occasions and regular steel stuff for everyday cooking. It can get quite loud in here when we are moving the stock around because everything clanks together. Mayur Vihar is a nice neighborhood, and we have many regulars who have been buying from us since their kids were small. Now those kids are grown up and coming in to buy stuff for their own kitchens. I don't really have a fancy way of running the business. I keep my accounts in a big ledger book and use a simple calculator. We don't do any big advertising. Usually, someone’s auntie tells them to come to us for a new tawa or a set of spoons. I spend my days stacking shelves and talking to customers about which size of pot is best for making dhal for a family of four. It’s a steady job and I like being surrounded by the things people use to feed their families. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped with all the boxes, but that’s just the nature of selling kitchenware.
