Indipendent Consultant

Being an Indipendent Consultant here in Mayur Vihar Phase II is a different kind of pace. My office is basically just a room in 60 D, Pocket B. It’s a residential neighborhood, so most of what I hear during the day is just the normal sounds of Delhi life, like the vegetable sellers calling out or neighbors talking on their balconies. I don’t have a big staff or a fancy reception area. It’s just me, my laptop, and a lot of notebooks scattered around. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely, but I like the freedom of being my own boss. I spend a lot of hours researching and writing reports for people who need my advice on various projects. The room gets a good amount of light in the morning, which helps me stay awake when the work gets a bit dry. I’ve lived and worked in Delhi for a long time, so I’m used to the pace of things here. When I need a break, I just walk down the stairs and grab a quick snack from the local market nearby. It’s a very grounded way to work. You don’t have to put on a suit or pretend to be someone else. I just sit at my desk, answer my emails, and try to give people honest answers to their questions. It’s a simple setup in a quiet pocket of the city that works well for me.
