At Grace India Exhibitions & Interior Pvt Ltd., we operate out of Ff 15A in Laxmi Nagar. It’s a busy little office. We have boards leaning against the walls and fabric samples draped over the chairs. It’s always a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. Laxmi Nagar is a crowded area, so there’s always something happening outside the window. We spend our days planning out stalls and interior layouts on our computers. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone with vendors and contractors. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a drawing for an upcoming show. The office gets a bit hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the windows directly. We have a small fan that rattles constantly in the corner. It’s not a slick design studio like you see on TV. It’s more of a place where we get our hands dirty with the planning and the logistics. We have stacks of old exhibition catalogs that we use for reference when we get stuck. People drop by with samples or to discuss a project they have in mind. We offer them a plastic chair and some tea if we have any left. It’s a small team, so we all do a bit of everything. From measuring spaces to ordering materials, there’s never a dull moment. We just focus on getting the work done here.
