If you ever come down to Sarla Devi Jain Market in Gandhi Nagar, you’ll find us at number 9/544 on Subhash Road. This place is always packed with people looking for fabrics and clothes. It’s a bit of a maze inside the market, and our shop is no different. We have rolls of cloth stacked up high, and there’s barely enough room to walk between the aisles sometimes. Gandhi Nagar is a fast-paced area, and you’ve got to be quick if you want to keep up with the crowd. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a noisy, dusty, and vibrant place to work. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just use the ceiling fans to move the air around while we’re cutting fabric or checking the latest stock that came in. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bundles and moving boxes around. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique; we just provide what people are looking for in the local market. Sometimes we get a bit behind when it’s festival season and everyone is in a hurry, but we do what we can. It’s just us and the fabric, day in and day out. We like the energy of Subhash Road, even if it gets a bit overwhelming by Friday afternoon. You just take a deep breath and keep on folding.
