Over on Nehru Street in Gandhi Nagar, you can find us at Priyanka Collection. The address is Ix/6482, right in the middle of one of the busiest streets for clothes. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. Every morning starts with pulling up the heavy metal shutters and sweeping the front step because the street gets dirty fast. We spend most of our hours sorting through piles of fabric and making sure everything is where it belongs. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find soft music or fancy lighting. We just have a few bright bulbs and a lot of stock to go through. People come in and out all day long, and we try to help them find what they’re looking for without making a big fuss. Sometimes the shipments arrive late, and we have to stay late to get everything inventoried, but that’s just part of the business. The neighbors on Nehru Street are mostly other shopkeepers, so we all know each other’s business pretty well. It’s a noisy, energetic place to spend the day. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people walking by and seeing what we have. It’s a simple operation, run by people who know the clothing trade in Gandhi Nagar. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down.
