We are over at B-5 in the New Ashok Nagar Market. It’s a very busy spot in Delhi, right near the government wine shop, so there is always a crowd nearby. Family Bazar Retail is where we spend all our hours. It’s a retail shop, so we have a bit of everything on the shelves. The market is always buzzing with noise, and being near the wine shop means there are always people moving around outside. We have to keep an eye on the stock because things sell out quickly in this part of Delhi. The aisles are a bit narrow because we try to fit as much as possible for the customers. It gets quite hot in the summer months, and the small AC unit struggles sometimes. We don't really use fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just a shop where you get your groceries and home items. New Ashok Nagar is a tight-knit place despite the crowd. We open the shutters early and don't leave until the street lights have been on for a long time. Managing a place like this in Delhi takes a lot of patience. There is always a delivery arriving or someone asking for a price. We just keep the records in a ledger and hope the day goes smoothly. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and organizing the front display. We just get on with it and keep things moving.
