Durgesh Bartan Bhandar

Durgesh Bartan Bhandar is the name of my shop, and you can find us in Lakshmi Nagar at Shop No 588/89, right in Guru Ramdas Nagar. It’s a traditional utensil shop, the kind where you find everything made of steel, copper, or brass. I took over this place from my family, and we’ve been here for quite a while. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like if you pull one pot out, the whole stack might come down, but I know exactly where everything is. Lakshmi Nagar is always buzzing with people, and our shop is no different. We get a lot of women coming in to look for new pressure cookers or sets of plates for their kitchens. I also sell the bigger items like huge pots for cooking during festivals. It’s a noisy business with the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. My hands are always a bit dirty from the metal polish, but that’s just part of it. I don't use any modern billing systems or anything like that. I just use my old notebook. I like talking to the customers and hearing about their families while they pick out their bartan. It’s a steady business and I’m proud to keep the family tradition going in Guru Ramdas Nagar. We aren’t a big mall store, just a local shop that sells things that last a lifetime. People trust us because they know we don't sell thin stuff.
