Durga Stich Line is tucked away in Street Number 3 of Sarojini Park. We are at number 56 in Shastri Nagar. It’s a residential-feeling area, which we like. The hum of the machines is the main thing you hear when you walk in. We have been here quite a long time now. The workspace is filled with thread and scraps of fabric. We don't really worry about keeping it pristine. It's a place for working, not for showing off. Some days the power goes out, and we just wait it out or chat. We have a couple of big windows that let in some light, which helps. It is a simple setup. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to finish the day's tasks. The neighbors are used to us by now. We usually have a bit of a mess on the cutting tables by the afternoon. It gets cleaned up eventually, but then it starts all over again the next day. We’re just regular people working in Shastri Nagar. Nothing too special to say about it. We’ve got an old clock on the wall that’s five minutes fast. We never bothered to change it. It keeps us on our toes. We just take things as they come and try to keep the machines running smooth. The floor is covered in lint most of the time. We just sweep it up when we can.
