MJ Exports International is based out of A-6/2 in the Jhilmil Industrial Area. If you know the area, you know it’s a maze of small factories and warehouses. We’ve been here for a good bit now, tucked away among the other units. Our space is mostly filled with boxes and packing materials because something is always being prepared to go somewhere else. It’s an industrial life, really. We don’t have fancy carpets or air conditioning in every corner. Most of the time, the fans are just moving the warm air around while we check lists and labels. Everyone here has a specific job, whether it’s checking the quality of what’s going out or making sure the paperwork is mostly right. We’ve had the same few people working here for years, so we don't need to talk much to know what needs doing next. Jhilmil can be a tough place to navigate, especially when the big lorries get stuck in the narrow lanes, but we’re used to it. We just focus on getting our shipments out on time. It isn’t glamorous work, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a rush, but mostly we try to get home before the worst of the Delhi traffic hits. It’s just a standard export business, run by real people who know the trade. We just keep our heads down and work.
