Delhi Juice Corner

It gets really loud here in the Main Market at Lal Quater. We are right in the middle of everything in Krishana Nagar and it never seems to quiet down. I start squeezing the oranges and sweet limes early because people want fresh juice before they go to their shops. The floor gets a bit sticky by noon no matter how many times we wash it. That's just how it is when you’re dealing with fruit all day. We have a couple of heavy machines and they make a lot of noise. People stand around the counter and talk while they wait for their glass. You see all sorts of people passing through this market. Some are in a huge rush and others just want to sit for a minute. We have some stools but they are usually taken. The fruit comes in fresh every couple of days and we have to sort through it to make sure nothing is bruised. Krishna Nagar is a good place to be because there are always people around. It’s hot work especially in the summer months when the sun hits the front of the shop. We keep the ice blocks in a big chest and they melt fast. It’s a simple life just making juice and talking to the regulars. Sometimes we run out of certain fruits and people get a bit annoyed but they usually just pick something else. It’s just us doing our thing every day.
