We are based out of Shakarpur, which as anyone around here knows, is a pretty crowded and hectic place. Darjeelinggreen.Com might sound like a big fancy internet company, but we are really just a small team working out of a modest office on one of the side streets. Most of our time is spent on the computer managing the website or down in the storage area packing up boxes. It is funny because while we deal with tea from far away, our daily view is just the brick walls and hanging wires of Shakarpur. The noise from the traffic outside can be a bit much during the middle of the day, but we just close the windows and get on with it. We don't have a big fancy showroom for people to visit. Most of what we do happens behind the scenes, making sure the orders are processed and the stock is handled carefully. It is a lot of repetitive work, like printing labels and taping up cartons, but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the internet goes down or the power flickers, and we just have to wait it out and start again. We aren't trying to change the world, we are just trying to get good tea into the hands of people who want it. It is a simple enough business model that doesn't need a lot of explaining or big fancy words to describe to the neighbors.
