We are located at A-72 on the upper second floor, down Gali 7. It’s right on the edge of Delhi and Haryana, which makes things interesting with the post sometimes. Cosmic Merchants Pvt Ltd might sound like we’re selling things from space, but we’re just dealing with regular clothes and fabrics here on the ground. The second floor is a bit of a climb, especially when the lift is acting up, which is quite often. We have a lot of windows, so the light is good for seeing the small details in the cloth. It’s a busy workspace. There are always stacks of paper and sample pieces lying around on the desks. We don’t have a polished showroom with lights and mirrors. Our showroom is just a couple of racks pushed against the wall. We spend most of our time talking to suppliers and checking the quality of what comes in. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking lists. Sometimes the gali gets blocked by a truck, and we have to carry everything by hand from the main road. It keeps us fit, I guess. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy offices. We just want to make sure the merchants we work with get what they paid for without any trouble. It’s a straightforward business run by people who have been in the trade for years. We stay open until the last shipment is loaded.
