Aanish Ice Shop

Aanish Ice Shop is a small operation located in Mayur Vihar. If you live around here, you know how hot it gets in Delhi, and that is when people really need what we have. We don't have a big fancy building, just a spot where we keep the ice cold and ready for whoever comes by. We sell ice in different sizes, mostly to local shops, juice stalls, and sometimes for people having parties at home. Mayur Vihar is a big area, and we try to cover as much of it as we can from our location. Dealing with ice is a bit of a race against the sun. You have to move fast before things start melting away. It is a very simple business. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us handling the heavy blocks and making sure the delivery cycle keeps moving. Some days we are completely sold out by the afternoon, especially in May or June when the heat is unbearable. Other times, when it rains or gets cold, things are a lot quieter and we just sit and wait. We have been doing this for a while now and know most of the regular vendors in the market. There is no corporate mission here, just selling ice to people who need to keep things cool. It’s practical work and keeps us on our toes throughout the long summer months in the city.
