Milestone Academy

Milestone Academy is over on Junwani Road in the Kohka part of Durg. If you know the area, you know it’s a spot that’s grown quite a bit recently. The school itself is just a place where kids from all over Durg come to sit in class and hopefully learn something useful. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. The gates open at the same time and the security guard knows most of the parents by face. It gets quite hot here in Durg, especially during the afternoons, so the classrooms can feel a bit stuffy despite the windows. We have some trees around the perimeter which help a little with the shade. The staff is a mix of people who have been here forever and some younger ones who are just starting out. You can see the traffic on Junwani Road getting heavier every year, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of desks moving and teachers talking. There’s a small area where students eat their lunch and talk about whatever kids talk about these days. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s a functional building with hallways that have seen a lot of footsteps. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait for the generator to kick in. It's just a regular school day, every day, right here in the 490023 zip code. Nothing more to it than that. We just focus on the books and the classes.
