Vaisa Hollow Block

At Vaisa Hollow Block, things are usually moving along at a steady rhythm. You can find us at number 57 on Chinnalapatti Road in Panjampatty. It’s a familiar spot for those living nearby who are working on their own houses or small walls. Our yard isn't the biggest, but we manage to fit everything we need to keep the production going. The process of making the hollow blocks takes up most of our time, from mixing the sand and cement to making sure they sit long enough to get strong. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website that looks like a big company. We just talk to people when they walk in or call us up to ask if we have stock ready. The road outside can get a bit busy with people heading into Panjampatty, but inside the gates, it’s just us and the machines. We’ve got a couple of workers who have been here a long time, and they know exactly how the mix should feel. It’s a bit of a messy job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. We don't mind though, as long as the blocks are coming out right. Sometimes neighbors just stop by for a chat while they are passing on Chinnalapatti Road. It’s a local way of doing things, keeping it simple and making sure we have enough for whoever needs them.
