Srm Bricks

Srm Bricks is located at 99 Vayaloor, right on the Palani Main Road. If you are driving toward the temple, you’ve probably passed us dozens of times. The road is always busy with pilgrims and travelers, so there is a constant hum of engines in the air. We’ve got a large open space where we keep the bricks, and during the peak of summer, the heat coming off those stacks is enough to make you dizzy. We have a small crew that works the yard, and they are usually covered in grit by the end of the day. There is no air conditioning out here, just the breeze if we are lucky. We don't spend money on fancy signs or promotions; the piles of bricks are enough to let people know what we do. We get all kinds of people stopping by, from local farmers building a shed to big contractors. The water we use for the mix has to be pumped in, and we have to watch our usage carefully during the dry months. It is a simple, tough business that relies on the strength of our arms and the consistency of the fire. We don't have a mission statement, just a goal to finish the day’s work and get home for dinner. It’s been this way for years, and we don't see any reason to change how we operate.
