Bibhutibhusan Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Bhabanipur, which is part of Bongaon in the North 24 Parganas district. We named the company Bibhutibhusan Farmers Producer Company Limited after the famous writer from this region. It’s a point of pride for us here in West Bengal. We mostly work with the farmers around Bhabanipur to help organize their crops and sales. It isn't a high-tech setup. We have a small office where we sit and talk through the season's plans. There are a lot of challenges with farming these days, like the price of seeds and the changing rains, so we try to stick together. Most of us have been in Bongaon our whole lives and know the land well. We don't have a corporate board. It's just local people trying to make a living from the soil. You won't find any glossy brochures or fancy signs here. We just keep a ledger and talk to the farmers when they come in. The address in Bhabanipur is easy to find if you're from around this part. We do a lot of walking out to the fields to see how the crops are growing. It’s a slow kind of business but it’s what we know best. We are just a group from North 24 Parganas doing our best with what we have. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather is bad, but we manage to keep things moving. We just stay focused on the day-to-day work.
