Swami Vivekananda Teacher Training B.Ed. College

Down here in the Karmatand area of Bokaro Steel City, we have been operating the Swami Vivekananda Teacher Training B.Ed. College. It is located right at the post office area in Jharkhand, so it is fairly easy to find once you get into the town. We mainly focus on helping people who want to become teachers. Most of our students are young adults from the surrounding villages and the city who are looking for a steady career in education. The college itself is a practical sort of place. We have got the lecture halls set up with basic seating and some boards for writing. It is not the kind of place with a lot of decorations or luxury. We spend most of the day going over teaching methods and how to manage a classroom. The staff here has been with us for a while, and they know how things work in this part of Jharkhand. We have a small library where students can sit and go through their textbooks when they are not in class. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just part of life here, but we keep going anyway. It feels good to see the students finish their course and go off to find jobs in local schools. We are just a small team of people trying to run a functional college for the local community without making things too complicated for anyone.
