If you walk toward Ranisati Mandir in Katrasgarh, you’ll find us on the first floor of Sunayna Mention. It is an older building, so the stairs are a bit steep if you are carrying books. Gurukul Education started because there was a need for a place where kids could sit and actually focus on their textbooks without too many distractions at home. Dhanbad gets quite dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables before the morning session starts. We have a few rooms partitioned off. It is nothing fancy, just standard plywood walls and some fans that hum a bit too loudly when it gets hot in May. We usually have a small tea break in the afternoon. Sometimes parents drop in without calling first, which makes things a bit hectic, but we usually find a chair for them to sit and talk. The view from the window is mostly just the street and people heading to the temple. We don't have a lot of staff, maybe just three or four of us who take turns with the different subjects. It’s a plain place. We don't have air conditioning, so the windows stay open most of the year. You get used to the sound of the horns and the bells from the mandir. It’s just a regular part of our day at the center.
