Royal Roots Play School

Our little place is tucked away in Mahuda Bazar. If you know the Mohuda area in Dhanbad, you probably pass by us. Being a play school means it’s never really quiet here. We have toys scattered around most of the time. The floors get scuffed up pretty fast because the kids are always running. We start early in the morning when parents drop off their little ones before heading to work or the market. It’s a small setup. We don't have those massive fancy gates or anything. Just a regular building where we try to keep things safe and simple. Sometimes the kids get cranky and we have to settle them down with some snacks. The walls are painted with some bright colors, though some of it is peeling a bit near the bottom. We deal with the typical Dhanbad dust every day. You clean it and an hour later it’s back. It’s just part of being in this part of town. We have a few staff members who live nearby, so they know all the families. It feels more like a big house than a formal school sometimes. We have some outdoor space but it’s mostly just for a quick run-around. Most of the day is spent inside doing basic drawing or singing songs. It’s a lot of work keeping up with three and four-year-olds but that is what we do here in Mahuda. We just keep at it day after day.
