Being right off NH 32 in Sinidih Kanta means things get a bit dusty from the trucks passing by. Our little place in Tundoo is where we spend most of our mornings with the small kids. You can hear them laughing or crying from the road sometimes. The gate is painted bright, but the sun in Dhanbad fades it pretty fast. We have a few rooms filled with plastic blocks and those small chairs that are hard for adults to sit on. It’s a lot of cleaning up toys and making sure nobody falls over. We aren't a big institution with fancy uniforms. Most days, we are just trying to keep the toddlers busy so their parents can get some work done. The yard has a little bit of grass left, though the heat usually turns it brown by April. We keep some water buckets ready for when they get messy with the paints. It's funny how much energy they have even when it's humid outside. Sometimes a stray dog sits by the entrance looking for scraps from the kids' lunchboxes. We just shoo it away and get back to the drawings. Life here is simple and a bit loud, but that is what you expect when you work with children near a busy road. It’s just us doing our thing in this corner of the world every day, and we usually go home quite tired.
