Lil' Kidz Preschool

Our little preschool is located inside the S.D.M. Secondary School area over in Azad Nagar, Bhaga. If you’re familiar with the Phusbunglow area in Dhanbad, you know the lane we are in. It’s a small space, specifically meant for the younger kids who are just starting out. We have some colorful mats on the floor and some basic toys scattered around the rooms. It’s often quite noisy here because, well, that’s what happens when you have a bunch of toddlers in one place. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that hum all day. Our staff is mostly women from the neighborhood who know how to handle fussy kids. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spills and helping the little ones with their snacks. It’s not a polished environment by any means; there are crayon marks on some of the walls and the furniture is a bit worn out from use. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything. We just make sure the kids stay safe and learn their ABCs and numbers before they move on to the bigger school next door. The parents usually drop their kids off and have a quick chat with us at the gate. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of place. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the kids happy.
