This L&T office is situated right inside the Reliance Township over in Motikhavdi, Jamnagar. We are based in the East Residency area, specifically in Block 8G. Working inside a township like this has its own rhythm that is different from being in the middle of a busy city. Everything is quite orderly and the streets are mostly lined with trees. Our office space is pretty basic and does not have any of that high-end furniture you see in brochures. We have a few sturdy desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a corner where we keep the kettle for making tea. Most of the people we see during the day are also living in the township, so we all kind of know each other by sight. It makes the work environment feel a bit more personal. We handle various tasks related to the site operations from this small block. Sometimes the coastal air makes everything a bit damp, but we have gotten used to that over the years. We do not really bother with decorations or corporate branding inside. We just have our maps and schedules pinned to the board so everyone knows what is happening. The routine is steady here. We show up early, get through the logs and reports, and usually wrap things up before the evening shift change. It is honest work in a place that feels very much like its own little world in Gujarat.
