Our company, Panchwadan Farmers Producer Companylimited, is located in Pasai village. It’s part of the Poraiyahat area in Godda district. We run things from Fakir Mistri’s place. It’s a real grassroots operation. Most of us involved are just local farmers who have lived here our whole lives. We got tired of seeing everyone struggle individually, so we put this company together to see if we could do better as a group. We focus on getting better seeds and making sure we can sell our produce without getting cheated. The work is physically demanding. We are out in the fields for most of the day, then we come back to deal with the company stuff in the evenings. It’s not a polished business with a lot of rules. We just do what makes sense for the season. Sometimes the monsoon is late, and everything gets stressed, including us. We don't use big words or try to sound like we know everything. We just know how to grow things in this specific soil. If a neighbor needs help with their tractor or some advice on pests, we’re there. It’s more of a community effort than a typical business. We’re just trying to keep the farms in Pasai going strong so the next generation has something to work with. It’s about the land and the people who live on it.
