Maledih Kukkut Swavalambi Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right in Maledih village. We are in the Jasidih area of Deoghar which is not too far from the main station if you are traveling through. A lot of us here focus on the birds and the farming that goes along with that kind of life. We named it Swavalambi because we want to be able to stand on our own feet without depending on outsiders too much. It is a lot of work looking after everything especially with the weather changes we get in Jharkhand. Most of our days are spent checking on the animals or fixing things around the village. We are not trying to be a fancy corporation at all. We are just people from Maledih who decided to join up so we could have a bit more say in how our products are sold. The post office is right here in the village too. It gets busy during certain times of the year and there is always something that needs fixing or someone who needs help with their chores. We do not have a big office with computers and all that. It is more about sitting down together and figuring out the week ahead. It is a simple life in Deoghar but the work is constant. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure the company stays moving for everyone in the village.
