You can find us at Ved Prakash And Sons at 2807 in Kinari Bazar, which is right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Old Delhi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how crowded it can get with all the shoppers and carts. Our shop has been here for generations, and not much has changed over the years. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, filled with laces, borders, and all kinds of wedding trimmings. It is a very colorful place but there isn't much room to move around. We still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way, using handwritten ledgers instead of computers for everything. It gets incredibly hot in the summer months, so we just keep the small fans going and drink plenty of cold water. The noise from the market is constant, with people calling out and the sounds of the city all around us. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this street and we often share tea in the afternoons. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website or do any big advertising. People find us because their parents or grandparents came here before them. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but we are proud to be part of the history of Kinari Bazar. We stay until the shutters go down at night.
