Times Of India has a spot at R-119, Khirki Ext., Malviya Nagar, New Delhi - 17. This isn't the giant headquarters you might imagine; it’s a more local branch tucked away in the narrow, winding lanes of Khirki Extension. It is a very lively area, full of shops and people living their lives right outside our door. The office is compact and every bit of space is used for something. We have files stacked up in corners and desks that are probably a bit too close together. It gets a bit loud during peak hours, especially when the market nearby is in full swing. We don't have a corporate cafeteria, so we usually just grab something from the vendors on the street or bring a tiffin from home. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the light flickers occasionally, but it is a place where real work gets done. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to handle the local side of things. It feels very connected to the city when you are working in a place like Malviya Nagar. You see the same faces every day and you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. We don't use big words to describe ourselves. We are just a team in a small office on R-119, keeping up with the daily flow of information and making sure everything stays on track. It is honest, busy, and very much a New Delhi experience.
