Over at F-154 Vikas Puri in New Delhi-18, you will find the Times Of India office. It is a pretty loud area because of the traffic but you get used to it after a week or two. Inside, it’s just a bunch of people on computers or talking on their mobile phones. We don’t have those fancy lounges or break rooms. It is a workplace through and through. We handle the more local side of things here for the paper. There are always stacks of newspapers in the corner and sometimes it feels a bit tight when everyone is at their desk. We drink a lot of tea from the small stall just down the road. It helps when things get a bit busy and stressful. Dealing with news and ads means there is always something that needs to be finished. Some of the staff here have lived in Vikas Puri for years so they know the area well. We don’t really have meetings about our mission or anything. We just get the work done so it is ready for the next day. The chairs are a bit old and they squeak sometimes but they do the job. It is just regular office life in Delhi. Occasionally the power cuts out and we just have to wait for the generator to start. It’s just part of being here. We aren’t trying to act like we are something special. It is just the team at F-154 working through the day.
