The Crafts

The Crafts is located at Plot No.2842 in Bulbuli Khana, which is right near Turkman Gate. If you know the old city, you know how tight the lanes can be. Our workshop is tucked away in there. It’s a place where we actually make things. It’s often noisy with the sound of tools, and there is usually sawdust or scrap material on the floor. Turkman Gate has so much history, and we feel like we are part of that daily rhythm. We don’t have a storefront with big glass windows. You have to look for the plot number to find us. Most people who come to us are looking for something specific that they can't just buy at a big mall. We work on various craft projects, mostly hand-made stuff. It takes time and sometimes our hands get tired, but that’s the nature of the work. The light in Bulbuli Khana isn't always the best in the evenings, so we try to get most of our detailed work done during the day. We are just a few people who enjoy the process of creating something from scratch. We don't have a fancy titles or a corporate structure. We just work. Sometimes neighbors drop by for a chat while we are busy. It’s that kind of place. We’ve been here at Plot 2842 for a long time, and we don’t plan on moving anywhere else anytime soon.
