Siemens Information Systems Ltd has an office here in New Delhi, and that is where we are based. Even though the company name is very big and global, our daily life in the Delhi office is pretty much like any other local workplace. We spend a lot of time sitting in front of screens, working on different software systems and checking data. The office is located in a busy part of the city, so you can always hear the traffic and the general buzz of New Delhi right outside the windows. We don't really have a lot of those fancy office perks like bean bags or game rooms. It is a more traditional setup with rows of computers and plenty of meeting rooms that always seem to be booked. We usually start the day fairly early to avoid the worst of the commute. Lunch is often a quick meal at our desks or a walk to a nearby food stall if it’s not too hot outside. We have a lot of different teams working on various projects, so there are always new faces coming and going. It’s a very professional place, but it still has that local Delhi feel where people are friendly and chatty in the hallways. We just focus on getting our technical tasks done and making sure everything is working correctly before we head home in the evening. It’s a steady, busy place to be for us.
