We are over here on Main Wazirabad Road in Bhajan Pura. It's usually pretty loud outside with all the traffic passing through Yamuna Vihar, but we just get on with it. My father started things out and now we handle all the stone and metal work coming through the door. Some days the yard is full of slabs and other days it’s just us moving things around to make space. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a place where we get the job done. People come in looking for specific sizes and we try to find what works. Sometimes the shipments are late and that’s a headache, but that is how this business goes. We spend most of our time checking the inventory or talking to the drivers. It gets quite hot in the afternoons here. We keep a few chairs for when friends drop by to chat about the local news. Dealing with stone is heavy work. Your hands get rough and the dust is everywhere no matter how much you sweep. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. More shops have opened up nearby. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the staff paid. It’s mostly just routine stuff, day in and day out, making sure the measurements are right before things head out on the truck. We don't use fancy computers for everything, just our books and some common sense.
