S & S Consultants is based out of Ashok Vihar Phase-1. It’s a nice enough area, and we’ve been here long enough that the local trees have grown quite a bit since we first opened. Our setup isn't anything fancy. It’s basically just a few of us in a room with some computers and a landline that rings more than we’d like. We handle a lot of consulting work, which basically means people come to us when they have questions they can't answer themselves. Sometimes we have the answers ready, and other times we have to spend a few days looking things up or calling around. It’s not a fast-paced life, but it keeps us out of trouble. We like the pace of Ashok Vihar. It’s got a bit of a neighborhood feel that you don't always get in other parts of the city. We don't have a big sign outside or anything that screams for attention. Most of our clients are people who have heard about us from a friend or a neighbor. We just sit at our desks, drink our chai, and work through the files. Some days are slow and we end up talking about the news or the weather, while other days we are buried under piles of documents until late in the evening. It’s a living, and we are happy to be doing it here in Phase-1 without any big corporate pressure.
