Running Raghav Electricals from the 1st floor of Bhagirath Palace is quite an experience. If you’ve ever been to the Electric Market in Chandni Chowk, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s a place like no other. Our shop at 1801 is usually packed with boxes of wires, switches, and all sorts of electrical components. There isn't much room to move around, but we know where everything is tucked away. The air in Bhagirath Palace is always thick with the sound of people haggling and carts rattling over the uneven floors. It’s a bit of a climb up to the first floor, but most of our regular customers don’t seem to mind. They come for the variety we keep. We aren't interested in sounding corporate because that’s just not how Chandni Chowk works. Here, it’s all about the relationship you have with the person across the counter. We spend our days answering questions about voltages and fittings while trying to make space for the next shipment coming in. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and it’s often very hot, but it’s home for us. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but the basic way we do business hasn’t shifted much. We just open up, turn on the lights, and see who the day brings in. It is a messy, beautiful way to make a living in the heart of the old city.
