R.A. Fazal Elahi has been sitting here at Shop No.345 on Press Street for a long time. If you know Sadar Bazar, you know how crowded and loud it gets, especially in the afternoons. Our shop isn't very large, but we've managed to fit everything we need inside those four walls. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two customers come in at once, but we make it work. Most of the day is spent handling orders and talking to the people who walk past our door. Press Street is always moving, with carts and people everywhere, so there’s never a quiet moment. We’ve seen the market change quite a bit over the years, yet we’re still here doing the same thing. It’s a family-run kind of setup, so things are pretty casual. You won't find any suits or formal meetings here. We usually just sit on the stools, have some tea, and wait for the next person to come in. The shelves are packed high, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for. We don’t really do fancy advertising or anything. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking down the street and seeing the sign. It’s a simple life, really. We open up in the morning, do our work, and head home when the market starts to wind down. It’s what we have always known and we are okay with it.
