Flymoon

We are tucked away in Street No. 9 over in Vishwas Nagar. If you know Shahadra, you know how tight these lanes can be, especially when the delivery rickshaws are trying to squeeze through. Our place is on Plot No. 13/17, and it’s basically a workshop where we get things done. We are pretty close to the Shahadra bus stand, so you can hear the horns and the shouting from the conductors if the wind is blowing the right way. Inside, the space is filled with the hum of sewing machines or the sound of scissors cutting through piles of cloth. It’s not a fancy showroom by any means. There are stacks of fabric everywhere and bits of thread on the floor that we sweep up every evening. We usually work late into the night when we have a big order to finish. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve gotten used to the cramped quarters and the dim light of the street. Sometimes we go out to the corner for a quick snack when we need a break from the noise. It’s a tough business with a lot of competition on every street, but we just keep our heads down and do the work. The building is old and the walls could use some paint, but it serves our purpose well enough for now. We just focus on the task at hand and moving the boxes.
