Prime Express

Market No 2 in Chittaranjan Park is a noisy place, especially around unit 134 where we are. There is always the smell of fish or sweets in the air depending on which way the wind blows. Our office is pretty straightforward. We have a counter where people drop off their documents and a back area where we sort everything out. It’s not a large place, so when we get a lot of deliveries at once, it feels a bit cramped. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the labels get mixed up on the desk and we have to sort them out again. I’ve been working here for a bit, and you get to know the regulars who come in every week to send things to their kids or for their business. The street outside is always full of rickshaws and people walking their dogs. We don’t have a flashy storefront, just the name on the glass and some posters on the wall that have been there for years. The light flickers once in a while, but it doesn't bother us much. We just focus on getting the packages scanned and ready for the next step. It is a simple life, really. You take the box, you check the weight, and you put it in the bin. By the time the sun goes down, the market is even louder, and we are usually finishing up the last of the paperwork for the day before we lock up the shutters and head for home.
