Ajmeri Gate is always loud and busy. We are located up on the first floor of the City Market building. It is a bit of a tight space here at 3965/128. We have been in this spot for a long time now. Most of our days are spent on the phone or checking through stacks of papers. Being right in the middle of the city means there is always noise coming up from the street. It is just how it is here. We handle a lot of different goods for people. Shipping things out and getting things in takes up most of our hours. There isn't much room for fancy desks or decorations. We just use what we have. Sometimes the stairs get really crowded with people moving heavy boxes. My desk is right by the window but you can’t see much because of the big signs outside. We usually drink tea twice a day from the stall downstairs. It helps with the long afternoons. Dealing with overseas stuff means keeping odd hours sometimes. We just get through the work as it comes. It is not a flashy setup by any means. Just a regular office where we try to keep things moving. We know all the neighbors well. Everyone in City Market is doing the same thing. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back. It is a bit dusty but it is home for the workday.
