Kedia Brothers

Kedia Brothers is located in Chawari Bazar, specifically at Building No 3523/23 in Gali Charan Dass. If you’ve never been to Hauz Qazi or Chawari Bazar, it’s hard to describe the chaos. The lanes are so narrow that two people can barely walk side by side, yet somehow we manage to move tons of material through here every week. Our building is old, like everything else in this part of Delhi. It has a lot of character, but it’s also a bit cramped and the stairs are steep. We’ve been in this same spot for decades. It’s a family business through and through. We share the space with stacks of inventory and old wooden desks. There is no corporate structure here; we all just do whatever needs to be done. Most of our day is spent talking to traders and customers who have been buying from us since my father’s time. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the market. The energy of Chawari Bazar is something else, with the rickshaws and the loaders constantly shouting. It’s not an easy place to work, especially in the summer when the stone buildings trap the heat, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. We don't use fancy marketing because everyone in the gali knows who we are. We just focus on keeping the stock ready and the accounts clear. It's a busy life.
