We sit here in Multani Dhanda, right in the middle of Arya Nagar. It is not a fancy place, just an office with some chairs and a few computers that sometimes take too long to start up. People walk in from the street all day asking if there is any work available for them. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to different managers and trying to see who needs help in their factories or offices. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic and people shouting, but we just keep at it. My desk is usually covered in papers and half-finished cups of tea that got cold because someone walked in with a question. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most days it is just about matching a name to a job and hoping it works out for everyone. There is no big secret to what we do. We just look at the lists, call the people, and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need to hand over a form, and we have to fix it with a bit of a shake. That is just how it goes here. It is a small space, 7348, you can find it if you look for the sign near the corner. We don't have a big lobby or anything like that. Just us, the files, and the phone that never seems to stop ringing. We just want to get through the day's tasks and hopefully help a few people out along the way.
