Indian Air Force

This is the Officers Mess over at 405 AF Station in Sambra. It’s located in Mutga, which is part of Belgaum in Karnataka. It’s a quiet place compared to the city. Gp Capt Ak Agnihotri is the name associated with this particular spot. Being on an Air Force station means everything follows a certain routine. It’s not a business in the normal sense. It’s where people stay and eat while they are serving here. The buildings are older but they are kept up. We have a lot of green space around the mess. You can hear the planes sometimes, which is just part of the atmosphere. The staff here has been around for a long time. We look after the rooms and the dining area. It’s a bit formal because of the setting, but it’s also a home for the people stationed here. We don't have customers, just the officers and their guests. The weather in Belgaum is usually nice, not too hot like the north. We spend our days making sure the place is ready for whatever is happening on the base. There’s a lot of history in these walls. You see it in the photos and the way things are set up. It’s a steady pace of life. We just do our jobs and keep the station running as it should. It’s a different world inside the gates. We like it that way.
