This Indian Air Force office is located at Brar Square in the Delhi Cantonment area. It is the publicity and PR section where Ranjan Mohanty, a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, handles the daily tasks. The Cantonment is a very specific part of New Delhi. It is much greener and quieter than the rest of the city, and everything follows a very strict order. The office itself is in a functional government building. There is nothing fancy about it; it’s just rooms with desks, telephones, and filing cabinets. We focus on getting information out to the public and managing relations. It involves a lot of work like answering queries and organizing data. We don’t use any marketing speak or try to sound like a corporation. We are just a part of the military doing a specific job. Brar Square is easy to find if you are in the Delhi Cantt area. The staff here has been in the service for a long time, so things are done in a very set way. We don't have a big lobby or a fancy entrance. It’s just a standard workplace where we get through our list of duties every day. The place is pretty serious but simple. We appreciate the quiet surroundings of the square while we work through the various tasks that come our way. It’s a very direct and honest place to work, with no room for extra fluff or complications.
