Icicic

Our little office is at 189 Aliganj, which is part of the Kotla Mubarak Pur area in Delhi-03. We go by Icicic, and we’ve been tucked away in this neighborhood for a good while. It’s a very old part of the city with narrow lanes and lots of character. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps us dry when it rains. We do a lot of basic finance and account work here. It’s not the kind of place with glass walls or shiny floors. We have wooden desks and old-fashioned fans that click while they spin. Most of our day is spent looking at numbers on screens and talking to people who walk in from the street. Kotla Mubarak Pur is always loud with the sounds of scooters and people shouting, but inside we try to keep things a bit more organized. Sometimes the street gets flooded during the monsoon, and we have to put sandbags by the door. It’s just part of living and working in this part of Delhi. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby, so there’s always someone to grab a tea with during a break. We aren't trying to be anything big or fancy. We just provide a local service for the folks living around Aliganj. It's a decent place to work, even if the walls are a bit stained from the damp.
