Girdhari Lal Gupta & Sons

Our shop is Girdhari Lal Gupta & Sons, and you can find us at Mangolpuri. We are at Shop No 35/36 in the S Block Mini Market. It’s quite close to the S Block Chowk and not far from Sanjay Gandhi Hospital at all. Being in the Mini Market means there is always noise and movement around us. We’ve got two shop spaces joined together, which gives us a bit more room than some of the others nearby. We deal with various goods, and the shelves are usually pretty full. It’s a family-run kind of place, so it doesn't feel like a big corporate office. We have old wooden counters and some stools for when things are slow. The hospital being nearby means we see a lot of people passing through who aren't from this immediate area. Mornings are spent cleaning the dust off the front and getting the stock ready. We talk to the other vendors a lot, mostly about the weather or how business is that week. It’s a practical way to live, just being here every day from morning until night. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the backup or just sit in the shade of the shop front. We don't use any fancy systems, just a ledger and some basic tools to keep track of what goes in and out. It’s just how we do things here in S Block.
