I work out of Preet Vihar in East Delhi, right in the heart of the Delhi-92 area. I go by the name Freelancer because that is exactly what I am. I don’t have a big office or a team of people working for me. It’s just me in a small room with my computer and some books. Preet Vihar is a good neighborhood, and I’ve been living and working here for quite some time. The area is usually quite lively, though my workspace stays relatively quiet. I take on various projects, from writing to research, depending on what people are looking for. My desk is usually covered in papers and old coffee mugs because I’m not the most organized person when I’m busy. I don’t have a fancy mission statement or a polished brand. I just focus on doing a good job so that people will want to hire me again. Most of my work comes through word of mouth from people I’ve helped in the past. I don’t spend any money on ads or marketing. Sometimes I work late into the night because that’s when I find it easiest to concentrate. During the day, I might step out for a walk or to grab something to eat from a local shop near the station. It’s a simple way of living and working. I like the independence of being on my own and not having to deal with corporate meetings. It’s just honest, everyday work for me here in Preet Vihar. I've been doing this for years.
