Delhi Manpower Express

Laxminagar is where we spend most of our time now, even though our permanent roots are back in Ramraj, Meerut. Being at K-8A means we are right in the middle of all the noise and energy of Delhi. It gets really crowded on the streets outside, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out. We started Delhi Manpower Express because there were so many people looking for a way to find decent work. My family is still mostly in Meerut, so I travel back and forth quite a bit. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some chairs and a lot of folders stacked up on the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just talking to people who walk in off the street. It’s a busy life, and sometimes it feels like we never have enough time to finish everything. The tea here in Laxminagar is actually pretty good, which helps when the days get long. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just try to help people get to where they need to go for work. It’s practical stuff. Some days are slow, but most are just full of paperwork and meetings. It’s been a long journey from Ramraj to here, and we’ve learned a lot about how the city works. You just keep going, one day at a time. If the metro is running late, it messes up our whole morning, but we manage.
