In the Sant Nagar Extension of Tilak Nagar, things are always moving fast. Our office is right there among the other shops and houses. It’s a bit of a maze getting around some of the parked scooters and delivery bikes on the street. Inside the office, we have a long counter where we take in the items people want to send. The walls are covered in old calendars and some charts that we use to check the zones. It gets quite warm in the summer, and our little fan doesn't always do the trick, so we usually have the door propped open. You can hear the sounds of the local market and the traffic from the main road nearby. We spend hours checking IDs and making sure the addresses are written clearly enough for the drivers to read. Sometimes someone brings in a package that isn't wrapped well, and we have to help them fix it with some extra cardboard we keep in the corner. We aren't a big, fancy headquarters; we are just a local branch doing the same thing every day. There’s a lot of ink on our hands by the time we close up. We drink tea from the stall across the way and talk about the weather or how many deliveries we had. It’s just regular work for regular people, and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a long time now. We just take it one box at a time and hope the traffic is not too bad.
