Bal Niketan Public School, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi

We are located over at H.No. B-5, right near the DDA flats in Munirka. It’s a busy spot in New Delhi 110 067, and there’s always something going on around the school building. Being in Sangam Vihar means we see a lot of local families coming through every day. The school itself isn't some massive campus, but we make use of the space we have. Teachers are usually running around with books or getting things ready for the morning assembly. It gets pretty loud when the kids arrive, which is just part of the day. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a good while, so most neighbors know us by name. The halls are decorated with student work, and it’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just how schools are. We focus on getting the lessons done and making sure the kids are where they need to be. Sometimes the bells don’t ring exactly on time, but we manage. There’s a lot of paperwork in education, and our desks show it. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Delhi, just a steady school for the kids here. People drop by for admissions or just to ask questions about the schedule. It feels like a small community inside those walls. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, helping out the families in Sangam Vihar and Munirka as best as we can. Sometimes the gate gets stuck in the humidity, and we have to give it a good kick to open. It's those little things that make this place feel like home to us. We aren't worried about being on some top ten list; we just want the students to learn their math and history. It’s a simple life here at the school, filled with the usual ups and downs of dealing with a couple hundred kids.
