Avis Car Rental is located at P-41 in the Old Double Story area of New Delhi. It’s a well-known neighborhood, and we’ve been here long enough that most of the locals recognize our faces. Dealing with cars in a city like Delhi is always an adventure. We spend a lot of time checking engines, washing the dust off the windshields, and making sure the keys are all accounted for. People come to us when they need a vehicle for a wedding, a trip out of town, or just to get around the city for a few days. The office is right on the street level, so it’s easy for drivers to pull up and drop off the vehicles. We have a small desk where we keep the logbooks and the rental agreements. It’s a lot of physical work, moving cars around and dealing with the local traffic, which can be pretty bad in the afternoons. Our team is just a handful of guys who know their way around a car. We don't have a fancy waiting room with coffee machines. Usually, people just stand around and chat while we finish up the paperwork. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we like being part of the hustle and bustle of this part of New Delhi. We just focus on getting people their cars and making sure everything runs okay. Sometimes a car comes back with a flat tire, but we fix it and move on.
