American Express

Our office is tucked away at Fa/40 in Shivaji Enclave. It’s really close to Shivaji College, so we see a lot of students walking past every day. Being in New Delhi means there's always noise from the street, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. This isn't one of those massive corporate headquarters you see in the movies. It’s more of a local branch where we handle the day-to-day things that come up at American Express. We spend a lot of time on the phones and at our computers. The air conditioner usually works, which is a blessing in the summer months. Sometimes the printer jams or we run out of milk for the coffee, but we manage. We aren't interested in sounding like a big bank brochure. We're just the people who show up at this address every morning to get things sorted. The walls are a bit plain, and we have some old plants that we keep forgetting to water. If you drop by, you’ll probably see us buried in paperwork. It’s a practical space for practical work. We know the local shops nearby and where to get the best lunch. It feels more like a small community here than a huge company. We just do our part, keep things moving, and try to make sure everything adds up at the end of the day for everyone.
